Anthony is yet another one of Rochester NY's most recognizable figures, and it was through her efforts that the University of Rochester began admitting female students in 1900. To this very day Susan B. Anthony remains a source of pride for residents of Rochester NY, and no tour of the city would be complete without a stop at the house which stands in her honor on Madison Street. Far from being merely a quaint and historical town, Rochester NY is a definite industrial and cultural hub as well. With most of its more significant accomplishments in this front being the Xerox and the Eastman Kodak companies, this in turn gave rise to yet another nickname: "The World's Image Center.
