While it's not exactly conducive to cordon bleu culinary fare, a fire pit ring still provides a fairly passable simulation of cooking and living off the land in the middle of the wilderness all you really need is a little imagination. All of which you probably haven't had the chance to enjoy since you hung up your boy scout uniform. It gives you more than just a memory a chance to experience all of that once again. or, at least, something decently similar. An open blaze in the middle of your backyard is a bit of an extreme thing, but a fire pit ring is what makes it quite safe.
